This entire semester as been fun and a little challenging at times. I really enjoyed this class-meaning I can leave here knowing I learned some really valuable things that I can use in other classes and in the future. When I first came to this class I was thinking about dropping it because of the amount of work. The best decision I have made thus far this semester. I thought it was going be way harder but in the long run it was kind of like a breeze to me. Reading different books for all different artist and view points was really interesting. Even after reading the seeing the “Color Purple” movie a lot of times I still found the book to be really interesting. The difference of the two was quite remarkable. I loved a lot of the books we read and there was a couple that I disliked which will happen most likely in an english class.

I liked the first half of the semester better than the last because the class had begun to get boring to me. I like when we watched movies and stuff like that but I didn’t like when we worked in groups. I didn’t have a problem with working with people it was the fact that nobody seemed interested in the topics and it became boring. The movie that I liked the most was the “Into The Woods” play. That was a fun movie to watch and it held a lot of significance when it came to archetypes,characteristic and morals.

I have learned a lot in the class. Now I can look at movies and notice when a person is during the flight and their call. I can now look at different archetypes in characters and how they all react with each other. I can read myths and poems and find a real meaning between them. I know about the belly of whale and that life is a journey and it can lead you can where. It’s much more that I have learned in this class that I will always remember. I enjoyed having you as a professor and wish I could have tooken your class for research writing but i didn’t fit in my schedule.

I liked learning about feminism and it showed me that it isn’t just about women power. Learning about women and how they have been depicted and criticized because of their gender for years has shown me that the world has a lot of changing still to accomplish. I learned about queer theory for the first time this semester and know I have a good understanding of what it is. I liked when we talked as a group in class and everybody shared their view points on noy only queer theory but other hot topics this semester.

In conclusion, this semester has come to an end and I have mixed emotions. I wish I could do it all over but them again im ready to move on and explore different classes in college. I’m ready to learn more about myself and see will my journey will lead me. Isn’t that what this class was about? my journey from this class has ended but my future id just beginning. Thanks for the opportunity of taking this class and teaching the way you did. you made the class worth the tired 8 o’clock morning’s.

If my sister was to ever leave me or go live so far I wouldnt know what to do either. When you grow up with someone who’s your sibling you become really attached and tend to lean on that person for supposrt and strength. so when celie sister left her she lost a part of her as a person. They didnt have contact with eachother for years because Mr. refused to share the latters from Africa. The stenghth that Celie had through this whole novel I would say would have to me my younger sister. She’s younger then me but she is stronger, I wouldnt been able to live like that I would of ran out  and never came back. In some cases that might make celie seem stupid but then again it might make her seem strong cause she was able to bare all that.

If I ever was to come across some really valuble information then yeah I would share it with others and I could be helpful to someone,probably not everyone but I believe it would do a small amount of people some good. Knowledge is cognition, the perception of reasoning and learning.

The Call to adventure is when a person needs to find something else to do in order to make their selves happy. It when people make a choice to go from their everyday life and take on an adventure. The song that makes me thinks of this is ”Successful” written by a new artist name drake. Many like this song because it shows ambition of wanting to be successful in life. The song is really nice and when I first heard it made me pressure myself even more in order to be successful in life and whatever I put my mind to. This song made me want to adventure out to college and get a good education in order to have a nice house and cars and plenty of happiness 10 years from now. The song is really inspirational which relates a lot to the call of adventure. The belly of the whale is sort of like being reborn and getting another chance at life. After facing many obstacles the person decides to turn their life around and start off right from the beginning. The song that gives me inspirations to do this is by the legendary hip hop artist Biggie “The sky is The limit” the reason I chose this song is because he raps about life obstacles and how one bad thing that happens should cause a person to give up themselves. Before coming here I didnt know Pennsylvania was so big in range and distance. the first time I came to visit IUP was during orientation. I dont know if that was a good idea or bad but I was doing something that was out my element which made a treshold. Anyone that first come to college they cross an huge treashold because its something that their not use to and can be  huge change in their lives.

Everything people like Alice Walker, Emily Dickerson and Oprah Winfrey have made it better for females today

Remember that women are the most beautiful creations and we are way more than just pretty faces

Emily Dickerson wrote poems about her life and the problems she had to face. One poem she wrote was called “because we could not stop for death”. All Her poems are really interesting they all show a significance in a  women lives.
